What are UAE Employment Visa rules?

To those who wish to work for a country based in the UAE, the UAE government offers employment visas. Simple rules govern these visas, and applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant needs to be above 18 years
  • The company through which the employment visa is being issued needs to have a valid Business license
  • The company records need to be clean and should not have any past violations
  • The role that the applicant is filling needs to be appropriate to the business operations of the company

Adding to the above, you need to fall into one condition from below:

Application Process

The Employer is responsible for obtaining a work permit and an employment visa. If they planned to hire, they would gather all the necessary paperwork from the applicant and apply to the official website.

The Ministry reviews the application and issues the approvals to the employer, where they download the same.

Upon receiving the Permit visa, now employer and employee can start arranging for Residence Visa, an Emirates ID, and Labor Card.

UAE Residence Visa along with Labor Card will allow employees to live and work in the country legally.

Status Change

When individuals enter the country under Visit or Tourist Visa, they are considered Visitors, but once the individuals get a work permit, they can change their status to Resident and the application needs to be submitted along with the Sponsor’s Emirates ID.
